April Fool

The north wind has delivered.  It has blown pan ice that formed on the north and northeast coast down into our environs.  This would be the end of the road for a kayak today.

Looking southwest the ice extends as far as the eye can see.

The same looking north.  Not unexpected as it was the north wind that blew it in.

Looking west to Bell Island, five kilometers away, the snow that was blowing blotted out the island.  The ice disappeared into the distance and ...

... crowded right up to the cobblestone beach.

It might be April Fools Day but this is no joke.  This will make for some awesome padding once the wind breaks it up to create channels.  It just a matter of being patient.
