Environment Canada reports that St. John's has the distinction of being the [bad] weather capital of Canada. St. John's apparently has the most:
- foggy days at 124 days,
- snow with 359 average snowfall,
- rain at 1514 mm average yearly rainfall,
- wind at 24.3 kms/hr daily average over the year, and
- cloudy with only 1497 hours of sunshine per year.
