I am back!

I had no on the sea paddles last year at all so its two years since I've been on the briny waters.  An email from Brian was the impetus and we met at St. Philips for a short paddle on a flat calm sea with no wind.

After leaving the harbour we began our paddle along the shoreline with Bell Island 4 kms across the water.

We made it to Sailing Point where we paddled through the dead calm channel, rocks on both sides.

 Another rock caught our attention.

As I said, we paddled along the shoreline reflected in the calm water.

When we arrived at the putin we noticed other vehicles with kayak racks.  As we got ready two paddles returned from their paddle.  We met up with two others and had a short chat.

One more channel to paddle thru before arriving at Portugal Cove where we turned around to return to St. Philips mighty pleased to be back on the water.

The last two years I've been seduced by my bike and almost exclusively rode.  It was a loss of balance which I plan to restore this year by sharing time between the kayak, bike and my hiking shoes.

This was a start and I'm happy to be back.
