Whale country
Every late spring and summer whales appear along the shores of Newfoundland. Its become quite a tourist attraction as numerous fishing boats have been converted to whale and sea bird sightseeing tour operations. Bay Bulls is the center of the whale and bird watching business on the Avalon with three companies offering tours out of the community. One of them has gone all out by painting this breaching whale on the side of its ticket office.
I have my "ticket" ready, all I need now is for the whales to appear. Last year I had one close encounter with a whale. Its was an awesome experience; one of those things I hope I'll experience again this year. Chances are good, I live in the right place.
